On April 9th. your handicap changed
Golf Australia has implemented changes to golf handicaps, and course rating systems will be altered over the next 18 months.
The first change has been to the way handicaps are determined and maintained, based on a rolling average system. See GolfAustralia website for details.

The CCR (Calculated Course Rating) based on scores for the day has disappeared.
The only rating used, irrespective of course conditions, will be the ACR - 68 for Leura.
The new handicap calculations is based on previous scores against the ACR . The relevant scores are your last 20 scores: this means that as a new score is entered, what had been your 20th score is bumped out. The playing handicap is calculated on an average of your 10 best of these 20 scores (multiplied by a factor of .96 - see GA for explanation of that..).
When a new card is submitted, there are two scores that are influential - the new score, and the 20th score that is exiting. For example, if the exit score is a good one, your average will go out even if your new score is a par round. The converse would also apply if the exit score was the highest of your 10 counting scores.
Overall, this means the Golf Link computers are working in overdrive on any given Saturday!
